Sideswiper (Cootie) Practice Groups

Welcome to my training log. Below are four sets of practice groups specifically generated to master the unique “wiggle” of the Sideswiper key. Each section contains 50 groups of 5 characters.

1. Warm-up (Soft & Easy)

Focus: Simple characters, primarily dots and dashes or short sequences (E, I, S, H, T, M, O).
Goal: To establish the basic side-to-side mechanical movement (“the wiggle”) without mental stress.

2. Rhythm & Swing

Focus: Characters with strong internal rhythms (C, F, L, Q, Y, X, P, R).
Goal: These letters are often the most enjoyable to send on a Cootie. Focus on maintaining a fluid, musical swing.

3. Random (Mental Agility)

Focus: A chaotic mix of letters and numbers.
Goal: To disconnect the “rhythm” and force the brain and hand to react instantly to unexpected patterns.

4. Fast & Slow (Length Variation)

Focus: Alternating between the shortest (E, I, T) and longest (0, J, Q, Y) characters.
Goal: To practice control over character spacing and prevent “rushing” the short characters or “dragging” the long ones.
