German Telegraph Key

Junker M.T. Honnef/Rh

The Junker Morse key is a high-quality, durable, and versatile Morse code key that is well-suited for both amateur and professional use.

About the Junker Morse key

The Junker Morse key is a high-quality straight key that was invented by Joseph Junker, a German naval radio officer, in the early 1920s. It is known for its precision machining, smooth action, and long lifespan. Junker keys are still prized by Morse code enthusiasts today, and they are often considered to be one of the best straight keys ever made.

The Junker key is made from high-quality materials, including a heavy steel base plate and a cast aluminum cover. It is built to last and can withstand the rigors of everyday use. The key is also very precise, with a smooth action and a consistent contact bounce. As shown below, the Junker key has a number of features that make it a popular choice for Morse code enthusiasts: It's contact points are made of silver and thus are very durable. It has a large, adjustable lever that allows the user to control the amount of pressure needed to send a signal. It also has a unique "click-stop" adjuster for contact spacing, which allows the user to fine-tune the key to their own preferences.

  • before 1945
  • With the D.R.P. (Deutches Reiches Patent / German empire patent) label, indicating that it was made prior to the end of WW-2.
  • These early Junker keys have micrometer-feel adjustments, where each click moves the gap one-tenth of a millimeter.
